ACROSTICHON – engraved in black CD

Acrostichon is one of the earliest and still existing death metals band from The Netherlands. Acrostichon was formed in August 1989. In March 1990 they recorded their debut demo which gained the band a lot of label attention. In March 1992 they recorded their debut album, called “Engraved in Black”, with producer Colin Richardson (Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Cradle of Filth). The booklet and inlays contain several outstanding artworks, old posters, pictures, flyers and liner notes from guitar player Richard (Master, Massacre, Napalm Death). Engineered by Oscar Holleman (Gorefest, The Gathering, Within Temptation). Six live tracks as bonus from their never to be re-issued second album.

The album does not feature the original artwork but the painting used for the 2011 rerelease by Memento Mori. The album title font however is the same as used for the 2013 vinyl edition on Doomentia Records.

Liner notes have been updated from earlier editions and all lyrics are included. The inside booklet has new artwork, different pictures collages and layout.

The bonusmaterial is a previously unreleased live recording from november 9th 1993 and features songs written after Engraved in Black.
