M. de Jong, known for his groundbreaking work in bands like Gnaw Their Tongues and Cloak of Altering, began experimenting with samples and industrial sounds mixed with black metal in the nineties. The tracks for MASSA/GRAF started to take shape after a collaborative project M. de Jong was involved in fell through. He decided to turn the material into the album “The/Deholyfied.”
